Jellyfish maintenance at Knoxfield, Victoria

The Jellyfish is one of our more popular stormwater treatment assets, using gravity, flow rotation and up-flow membrane filtration to provide stormwater treatment in a compact underground system.

Our team recently undertook a maintenance of one of our Jellyfish systems – a JF2250-10-2 at Knoxfield, Victoria.  These photos provide an insight into the pollution that the Jellyfish stops from entering downstream waterways.  As per the Jellyfish® Filter Operations & Maintenance Manual, the maintenance was simple – with a vacuum unit removing the gross pollutant and then over 3 cubic metres of fine sediment that heavily contaminated with pollutants – and then the removal, rinsing and re-installation of the Jellyfish cartridges, before replacing the access cover.
