Ocean Protect is proud to announce a landmark 3-year stadium naming rights partnership with the Cronulla Sharks. From 2026, the Sharks’ home ground in Sutherland Shire will officially be known as Ocean Protect Stadium.
This partnership is a natural fit given our commitment to safeguarding Australia’s coastal environments, including the iconic shores that are central to the Sharks community.
It is also a full-circle moment for Ocean Protect. “I’ve been a lifelong Sharks supporter, growing up in Sutherland Shire and playing in the junior rugby league for years, even some games at Ocean Protect Stadium,” reflected Michael Wicks, our CEO. “Ocean Protect started here in the Shire 23 years ago, and to have our name on this stadium now feels surreal.”
By partnering with the Sharks, we’re strengthening our connection to the people who make up our industry — the plumbers, contractors, builders, and developers who share both our work and our love for the game. It is also an opportunity for us to put our advocacy-led mission on a national stage.
Ocean Protect Stadium will be officially christened as the Sharks’ new home in the 2026 NRL season, with the Sharks set to clash against the Titans on Saturday, March 7. We look forward to sharing more updates as we enter this exciting new chapter for both Ocean Protect and the Sharks.
