It has been 20 years since the first install of the StormFilter cartridge in Australia, and now we have a significant milestone – 30,000 StormFilters fitted across Australia.
To take a trip back to memory lane, Michael Wicks went back to where we fitted our first StormFilter some two decades ago in Menai, south Sydney. The work completed here has helped prevent pollutants flowing into the Georges River and out to the ocean since the early 2000s.
The Menai StormFilter system was, at the time, the first to be installed in Australia and one of first in the southern hemisphere. Whilst the technology still holds strong, you can see from the video that maintenance is important.
Since this important milestone, our dedicated team of professionals have not only installed another 30,000 StormFilter cartridges but also been at the forefront of innovation when it comes to protecting our oceans. More specifically, we have been developing different types of media to treat a wide range of pollutants including nitrates and PFAS.
