A car dealership in the process of upgrading presented a clear stormwater management challenge: the site needed systems that could handle water quality treatment and water storage for reuse, all within a tight delivery window. Ocean Protect delivered a complete solution across these requirements.
The Challenge
Car dealerships generate a specific type of stormwater pollution risk. Wash bays, forecourts, and hardstand areas produce runoff carrying pollutants that must be treated before leaving the site. Together, these demands made a robust, end-to-end treatment train essential.
The Solution
Ocean Protect supplied a diverse range of systems to form a complete treatment train across the site:
- StormFilter® Precast Manhole fitted with 3 units of the 690 PSorb cartridges handled water quality treatment, targeting hydrocarbons and nutrients.
- Eleven OceanGuards® to remove gross pollutants, total suspended solids and attached pollutants.
- Three storage tanks with a total capacity of 75,000 litres that gave the client the ability to manifold them together to reduce the risk of leakage.
The treated, stored water is available for reuse on site to wash vehicles, adding value beyond the stormwater treatment function.
