A proposed warehouse and office development in Melbourne required an effective stormwater treatment solution across multiple areas of the site. To meet the site’s water quality requirements, four OceanSave® gross pollutant traps (GPTs) were supplied, delivering reliable pre-treatment while providing a flexible and efficient installation solution.
The Challenge
The selected solution needed to provide effective removal of litter, sediment and other gross pollutants while accommodating varying flow requirements across the site.
With different catchment sizes and pipe configurations, flexibility in system design was also an important consideration.
The Solution
Ocean Protect supplied four OceanSave® GPTs, consisting of:
- 1 × OS-1500-060
- 3 × OS-1200-028
Once the units were delivered to the site, installation commenced immediately.
OceanSave® offered several practical advantages for this project. Its flexible inlet and outlet pipe sizing options enabled the system to accommodate varying flow requirements and a range of pipe materials, making integration with the site’s drainage network straightforward.
Manufactured locally in our Dandenong factory, the units were readily supplied to the site and, once installed, required no specialised backfilling, helping streamline the installation process.
Efficient Installation, Reliable Performance
The OceanSave® combines proven continuous deflective separation technology with hydrodynamic vortex separation to remove gross pollutants and fine sediment greater than 1 mm. Its innovative indirect screening system is designed to minimise screen blinding while maintaining high hydraulic capacity, allowing the system to effectively retain litter, sediment and hydrocarbons across a wide range of flow conditions.
Together, the four OceanSave® GPTs on this site provide a robust stormwater pre-treatment solution for the development, delivering reliable pollutant removal while supporting efficient construction and long-term asset performance.
