At the recent Microplastics in Focus conference, Ocean Protect’s Daniel Rider and UNSW’s Dr Sanjith Udayakumar presented on the initial findings from their collaborative scientific study of microplastics in urban stormwater across different land uses in Western Sydney. We are pleased to share that Ocean Protect and UNSW have been awarded the Best Researcher Presentation award for this presentation.

The study is looking at stormwater pollution from OceanGuard® baskets from different land uses over a 12-month period to understand the characteristics and abundance of microplastics in stormwater.
