We’re looking back on Bioretention Unfiltered – Western Sydney, which took place on Wednesday, 13 August 2025. From lively discussions to hands-on bioretention system inspections, the day was filled with practical yet thought– (and debate) provoking insights aimed at building more resilient and functional water-sensitive urban environments.
We were thrilled to welcome 70 attendees, representing more than 27 organisations across Sydney, with some even flying in from New Zealand. From councils to consultants, the room was filled with a diverse mix of participants, sharing insights, exchanging ideas, and learning from one another.
With events like Bioretention Unfiltered, our mission is to empower stormwater industry professionals with practical insights and real-world case studies to inspire collaboration, curiosity and action that advances the design, implementation and maintenance of bioretention systems.
We envision a future where stormwater assets are thriving and resilient — where every system is engineered for efficiency and impact in every square metre — to protect our oceans and waterways for generations to come.
