A recent study by Harry Maher (Water Engineer at Optimal Stormwater) has compiled and reviewed ‘real world’ installation, maintenance and rectification costs for bioretention systems across multiple Australian jurisdictions.
The study indicates that installation, maintenance and rectification costs for bioretention systems in Australia are significantly higher than that provided in previously published industry guidance. The study provides unit cost rates for bioretention systems in Australia (based on the study data) to support more informed decision-making across the stormwater industry. The study is available here.
Harry will present and discuss the study at a free webinar on Wednesday 25th March 2026. Click here to register.
