The Challenge
With limited space available, the project required a below-ground solution that could withstand site demands while providing the required storage volume. The installation process also needed to be efficient to minimise disruption on site.
The Solution
Just four modules of the Ocean Protect UrbanPond™ were needed to solve the challenge, delivering an effective storage volume of 32.0 kL. Once the base was prepared, installation was completed in just four hours, with modules put into place and the OSD was completely assembled.
UrbanPond™ is designed for detention and retention applications. Its high void ratio maximises storage capacity, while its robust precast construction allows systems to be installed deeper without specialised backfill, increased wall thicknesses, or additional reinforcement.

The modular design of UrbanPond™ enabled rapid installation, with each piece installed in approximately seven minutes. The straightforward installation process impressed the project team, particularly as it was their first time working with Ocean Protect.
